Get the Look - White Sands Beach Beauty

We spoke to Nikki Mitchell, White Sands Make Up Artist, on how she achieved this effortlessly sexy beach babe look.

To make Zoe look 'camera ready' when shooting for White Sands, Nikki made sure her skin was perfectly even on both her body and face, with a Nikki Mitchell Spray Tan, that all her models use. This tan has been voted Australia's preferred photographic spray tan for models as it's a natural Olive colour and fades off naturally (won't leave you patchy!).

Nikki's Makeup Tricks

The most important thing with makeup is making sure you have the right foundation to blend into the jaw line. Colour match is a big thing for me. Here are some little tricks to try on yourself or applying makeup on others.

Foundation

Use a concealer brush or fingers for natural warmth to apply highlighter above your cheekbones, on your temples, down your nose, above your top lip on the area known as your 'cupid's bow' and just under your eyebrows. This creates a dewy, flawless look. Highlighter can also be used on your eyelids in place of eyeshadow, depending on how much makeup you want to wear. Don't use too much, as you can look too shiny and greasy.

Apply some highlighter or finishing powder, sparingly. Apply bronzer to the hollows of your cheekbones and blush on the apples of your cheeks (don't use too much).

Luscious Lips

Alternatively, try a lip and cheek tint for a natural, rosy look. Apply a small dot in the center of each lip and use a lip brush to blend it out. Do the same with your cheeks, but use your fingers or your foundation brush. Be as speedy as you can when blending, because these products tend to dry very fast, but they also last a very long time, so you won't have to reapply.

The most important makeup trick is happiness, be happy inside and it will glow throughout.
